What is skin ageing?
Ageing is different for each of us, and it depends on many factors: exposure to the sun or harsh elements, type and frequency of skin care, pollution, injury, stress, genetics, diet, habits, any medical conditions and more.
While nothing absolutely stops the ageing process, you can follow certain steps to help keep your skin supple and youthful-looking. Even then, however, your ageing skin will undergo changes that you may not like, such as:
Many of these effects can be reduced or significantly reversed with consistent care and treatment from a skilled dermatologist. Undergoing regular anti-ageing treatment and wrinkle-fighting procedures can soften the signs of age, letting you appear healthy and younger than your actual age.
How does it happen?
The genetically programmed ageing leads to biochemical changes in the elastin and collagen. Elastin is that connective tissue which provides the skin with its firmness and elasticity. It is the primary cause behind the ageing of the skin. When skin ageing starts, the skin tends to lose its elasticity and firmness due to the changes in the elastin
and collagen. The skin looks saggy and wrinkled. It can also be caused due to excessive exposure of the skin to sunlight. It is known as Photoaging. Even smoking can lead to skin ageing.
What is the antiageing skincare routine?
•Stay Hydrated
•Good nutrition
•Avoid smoking
•Avoid excessive alcohol
•Reduce your stress with exercise, yoga, meditation, or simple lifestyle changes.
•Always use good quality sunscreen.
•Wear protective clothes during summer.
Medical peels & Microdermabrasion: Skin resurfacing using peels & MDB is very helpful for treating photoaging. It helps to exfoliate the outer layers of the dead skin cells and reveal a new layer of skin which has improved tone, colour and texture.
Pigment removal lasers- Pico laser & Q-switch laser help to remove the uneven skin tone.
PRP / Vampire facelift- It is the most natural way of collagen induction.
Botox - These injectables give immediate results and are commonly used for the (dynamic) fine lines of expression/ wrinkles.
Fillers- These injectables are widely used for volume loss, ( static) wrinkles.
Threadlift - This is a simple procedure which stimulates collagen production.
Skin tightening using infrared lights to tighten the skin by heating up the collagen under the skin, which causes the skin to tighten or contract.
